Oral Surgery

At Crested Butte Dentist we are always trying to minimize pain! This is why we use PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) to speed the healing process after an extraction is done. We draw our patient’s blood prior to surgery and use a centrifuge to extract the best parts.

After the tooth has been removed we put our patient’s own healing factors back into the surgery site. If we are doing bone grafting for a future implant we also mix the PRP in with the graft, which not only speeds healing and minimizes pain but also makes the bone integration more predictable.

Dental Implants

Replacing irreparable or missing teeth with implants has come a long way and is now a very predictable procedure. Utilizing our technology, we can digitally plan where we want the implant to go and ensure the bone is healthy to support a dental implant.

Oftentimes, we use our digitally placed implant plan to fabricate a surgical guide to guarantee the implant is placed exactly where we want it. By utilizing this technology, we minimize the size of the surgical area and greatly reduce the time of surgery and postoperative discomfort. In most cases, the appointment is an hour or less and the patient is able to continue their daily routines. If you think you would benefit from a dental implant we are happy to review the process in detail with you.

Drs. Dave and Jim offer a proven full-arch restoration solution called All-on-Four® and also referred to as All-On-X. Four or more strategically implanted posts, acting as anchors, support an entire upper or lower arch of replacement teeth. This technique has reliably restored dental function since 1998 and at Crested Butte Dental, we digitally design the whole process using our 3D CBCT and our Cerec scanner.

All-on-X effectively suits those with missing teeth due to injury, decay, or age. The number of implants will vary depending on the patient’s bone structure and anatomical variations. After assessing jawbone integrity, four or more titanium implants are placed and a restoration is completed. The subsequent prosthetic arch can be either removable or fixed in place and provides a highly functional and far more stable and esthetic outcome than traditional dentures.

Patients choose All-on-X treatment for its durability, affordability, and convenience compared to other solutions. The strong integrated implants and precisely fitting prosthetic teeth typically last decades. Treatment requires less surgical time and materials cost than multiple single implants. By condensing rehabilitation into primarily two appointments, All-on-X makes whole-arch restoration highly accessible.

If debilitating tooth loss has affected your quality of life, All-on-Xmay be the answer. Please contact Crested Butte Dental to discuss if you may benefit from this proven approach to efficiently restore your confident smile.
